Marisol is a founding member and Director of CIRC. An associate researcher at the Institute for Research into Superdiversity (IRiS) at the University of Birmingham. Her journey into research is rooted in a deep belief that communities hold the knowledge and power to shape their own futures. Since 2018, she has worked on projects exploring community sponsorship programmes in the UK and across six European countries. In 2020, she began mentoring emerging community researchers through the Community Research Training Programme led by Dr. Lisa Goodson. Marisol is passionate about creating spaces where lived experience drives research, challenges systems, and leads to lasting, meaningful change.
